China Loosens Gaming Restrictions

China Loosens Gaming Restrictions

None

We reported earlier that China had begun enforcing time restrictions on game playing. After three continuous hours of gameplay, character abilities would be cut in half. After five hours of playing, the abilities would be even further reduced. The character abilities would not return to normal until after five hours of being logged out.

In an uncharacteristic move, China’s General Administration of Press and Publications (GAPP) has announced that the restrictions will only be enforced on gamers under eighteen as of February 1, 2006.
