Blu-ray or HD-DVD?

Blu-ray or HD-DVD?

None

A recent poll by Penn, Schoen, and Berland Associates showed that people are overwhelmingly favoring Blu-ray technology over HD-DVD for the next generation. 1,200 consumers were given a side-by-side comparison of the two formats in the areas of technology company support, Hollywood studio support, gaming console support, disc capacity, potential movie title availability and anticipated launch dates.

In this comparison, fifty-eight percent of the consumers preferred Blu-ray Disc, sixteen percent preferred HD-DVD, and twenty-six percent were undecided. People preferred Blu-ray because of it’s ability to play the discs in more CE devices, personal computers and gaming consoles, backward compatibility with current DVD media, disc capacity, and the ability to record large amounts of high-definition or standard-definition video and data.
