We had been hearing rumors of a free Xbox Live weekend, but now it has been confirmed. Verizon will be sponsoring the weekend of Friday, March 31 through Sunday, April 2 for all gamers to play Xbox Live free. In addition to free online play, gamers will be able to participate in “Play and Win” contests and Xbox Live Arcade leaderboard tournaments. Players will also be able to win Xbox Live Marketplace points from the Verizon One Million Microsoft Points giveaway. Verizon will be announcing how to get the points on March 30.
