Sale of Mature Games to Minors Declines

None

Although we probably couldn’t get Jack Thompson to believe it, the Federal Trade Commission has announced that their latest undercover sting operation has found that the amount of retailers willing to sell M rated games to minors has decreased.

Previously in 2003, sixty-nine percent of retailers were allowing the purchase of M rated games to minors. Currently, only forty-two percent were able to snag an inappropriate game. The most recent investigation was held between October of 2005 and January of 2006 and used “secret shoppers” between the ages of thirteen and sixteen.
