EA Announces Different Madden Game for Nintendo

None

Electronic Arts has officially announced that they be creating a special Madden 2007 game for the Nintendo Revolution Wii.

EA plans to utilize the Wii’s controller with features like snapping the controller to throw a pass with the player’s movement speed determining the ‘bullet’ nature of the toss. Players will be able to kick off by sweeping the controller like a real kicker. The player’s ability to move the controller left and right will also affect his running game.

“What we’ve tried to do is take the time we’ve had with the system and spend all of our time on maximizing gameplay,” stated John Schappert, a leader at EA Canada. “To us, what is so great about the Revolution is the uniqueness in control and the new experience it’s going to bring consumers.”

EA has not announced the name of the game yet, but it will not be Madden 2007.

“We want to bring out games that are great for the Revolution. And that’s what we’re trying to do,” Schappert continued. “We’re trying to take our expertise, and happily having a great football engine that we can count on solves a lot of problems.”
