Rockstar Comes to Agreement Over Hot Coffee Scandal

None

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has finally reached a conclusion after finishing their investigation into the Hot Coffee scandal that rocked the video game world last summer. A hidden sex scene in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was dubbed Hot Coffee when it was discovered last summer.

The FTC has come to a conclusion with Rockstar and Take-Two that the companies must agree to “clearly and prominently” disclose relevant information to the ESRB for the ratings process. The companies “cannot misrepresent the rating or content descriptors.” They must also design and implement an internal system that can screen materials before they are submitted for rating. The companies will also receive an $11,000 per violation fee.
