ESA Sues Oklahoma Over Game Law

None

In a continued fight against video game legislation, the ESA is filing a lawsuit against the state of Oklahoma to combat a recently passed law that includes “inappropriate violence” in games in their list of material harmful to minors.

Doug Lowenstein, president of the ESA, continues to express disappointment in the states who have passed these bills. He believes the nearly $1 million in legal costs and undetermined amount of hours spent by government employees to defend the bills is wasteful.

“We hope that sooner or later state legislators and candidates will stop trying to seek headlines by subverting the constitution and frittering away desperately needed taxpayer dollars and instead enter into a constructive partnership to educate parents about the tools available so they, not government, can raise their kids as they see fit,” Lowenstein stated.
