Sony Hints that PS3 Games May Cost Over $60

None

So, after you save your earnings for a year and go buy yourself a brand new PlayStation 3, you are going to need, well, games. And maybe in another year you will be able to afford them. Check out this quote from Kaz Hirai, Sony of America’s chief.

“So, what I can say now is, I think it would be a bit of a stretch to think that we could suddenly turn around and say “PS3 games now $99.99.” I don’t think consumers expect the software pricing to suddenly double. So, if it becomes a bit higher than fifty-nine bucks don’t ding me, but, again, as I said, I don’t expect it to be a hundred bucks.”

Now, we don’t know exactly what this means except that PS3 games might cost more than sixty dollars but less than one hundred. This doesn’t exactly sound like promising news to us. That said, if you plan to purchase a PS3, you have three options for purchasing games.

1. You are rich.

2. Your psychic told you about the PS3 in 1989 and you have been saving your money for the console and games ever since.

3. You plan to use your PS3 as a bookend.

We will keep you posted as we learn more.
