As predicted, Sony couldn’t keep their promise of 4 million PlayStation 3s at launch. In addition to cutting out the European market completely, Sony has also announced cutbacks in the amount of systems allotted for the North American and Japanese markets. 500,000 total PS3s will be distributed between the two markets. On November 11, 100,000 systems will be available in Japan. 400,000 units will be available on November 17 for the North American launch.
