Sony’s PS3 Online Plans Announced

None

Gamers have been wondering how Sony plans to compete with Microsoft’s well-established and successful Xbox Live online play.

Today, it was announced that Sony plans to use Xfire, an established online program, to draw gamers into their online play.

There are not many details about how the system will work yet, but we imagine it will have many of the functions Xfire already has, including a friend tracker, server browser, in-game voice chat, file and patch downloads, profiles with automatic stats and one-click join.

We will keep you posted as we learn more.
