Sony Announces Japanese PS3 Price Cut and More

Sony has announced some changes to the upcoming PlayStation 3.

Sony has decided to drop the price of the PlayStation 3 by 20% in Japan. The console will now retail for 47,600 yen, or $410 USD, down from 59,800 yen, or $515. There are no plans to lower the price in the U.S.

Sony has also announced several games that will support 1080p. They are Lair, Mobile Suit Gundam, Virtua Tennis 3, Gran Turismo HD, Ridge Racer 7, and NBA ‘07. In addition, the 20GB version of the console will be equipped with an HDMI (Ver 1.3/ supporting Deep Color) output.
