Virtual American Idol Contest Announced

None

If you have ever dreamed of being the next Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, or Fantasia Barrino, here’s your chance. Konami has announced an American Idol Virtual Contest alongside the release of their new PlayStation 2 game, Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol.

The competition will have gamers sing their chosen song from the list of songs in the game and then be judged based on the game’s advanced artificial intelligence system which tracks the singers accuracy and pitch. The top finishers will have videos of their performance posted on the internet at www.musicineverydirection.com from November 25 – December 22 for final public voting.

After holding competitions around malls in America, Konami will announce a grand prize winner on January 2, 2007. The winner will win an all-expense paid trip to an American Idol show in Hollywood, CA.

“American Idol has always encouraged people to step forward and live out their superstar dreams,” commented David Luner, Senior Vice President at FremantleMedia. “We’re pleased to collaborate on something that expands the American Idol experience in such an original way.”
