Tecmo has finally commented on the sexual harassment lawsuit involving Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of the Dead or Alive series and the Ninja Gaiden series. A former female employee of the company has filed a lawsuit against them after she claims they refused to do anything about the harassment she had reported.
“As a result of this investigation, Tecmo determined that the allegations in question were a result of a the former employee’s desire to vent frustrations over her own personal affairs, and not indicative of sexual harassment,” Tecmo’s press release reads.
“The alleged sexual harassment of the former employee by Itagaki never took place,” the press release continued.
Yet, Tecmo also stated that they have reprimanded several employees involved with demotions and salary reductions for mingling “personal affairs with their corporate responsibilities.”
Tecmo is prepping for a second hearing while Itagaki is planning to file a countersuit against the former Tecmo employee.
