New PS3 Info, PSP Firmware Update

None

For those of you who cannot get enough info about the PlayStation 3 launch, we’ve rounded up a bit more information for you.

The biggest selling PS3 game thus far was Resistance: Fall of Man, followed by Madden 07.

For those of you who don’t care about the games because you still can’t get your hands on a system, Sony is promising that they are trying to reach their goal of 1 million units on their way to the U.S. by December 31. The consoles will be airlifted to the U.S. on a weekly basis through the end of the year with another shipment ready to release in retail stores on Black Friday.

“Sony Computer Entertainment America couldn’t be more pleased with the response we have seen from consumers since the launch of PlayStation 3 on Friday,” Sony’s press release read. “This truly demonstrates the power of the PlayStation brand and further validates our belief that consumers see real value in an entertainment system that will define the next decade of digital entertainment.”

And if you do have a PlayStation 3? Sony has announced a firmware update that will allow the PS3 to work together with the PSP. Gamers will be able to stream multimedia content, including videos, photos, and music, from their 60GB PS3 system to their PSP. A software emulator on the PSP will allow gamers to play classic PlayStation games available for download from the PlayStation Store on the PS3.
