EA Joins Console War*

EA Joins Console War*

None Electronic Arts has tossed its hat into the console ring. The powerful video game publishers have announced that they have plans to create their own console named the SuperUltimate. The SuperUltimate will be the fourth console to join the next-gen war. Electronic Arts has not announced specifics on the console yet, but has promised that it will make every other next-gen system look “so last year.” The console will include similar features to the other systems including an internet browser, online community, motion-sensitive controller, and “neat-looking design.” Users will also be able to plug their iPods into the console. The most interesting part of this idea is that Electronic Arts makes nearly every game people want to play. All these titles will become exclusive to the SuperUltimate when it launches. EA franchises include, but are not limited to, Tiger Woods, FIFA, NFL Street, Madden, Fight Night, The Godfather, Need for Speed, Burnout, James Bond, Harry Potter, Medal of Honor, and The Sims. In addition, the game mogul owns licenses with sports leagues including NASCAR, NHL, NBA, and NCAA. From sheer game volume alone, EA’s SuperUltimate may be the only choice for the next-generation of gaming. Electronic Arts is hoping to launch the console in September of 2008. Lines have already begun forming at local Best Buys, Toys R Us, and Wal-Marts. *This article is presented as an exclusive, new Cheat Code Central feature titled “Are you dumb enough to believe this?” Please check back each Friday for the newest edition.
