Nintendo Announces Wii News Channel

Nintendo Announces Wii News Channel

None Nintendo and the Associated Press have formed a service that will provide users with the latest headlines. Nintendo is creating a news channel for the Wii using editorial and images from the Associated Press. The deal states that the AP will provide new content as part of a two-year deal, along with multimedia video and audio in the future. The news will be provided in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, German, and Swiss-German. Japanese coverage will be provided by Japanese organization Goo. The channel will kick off this Saturday. “The beauty of it is it zooms in and out of areas of the world,” expounded Perrin Kaplin, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Nintendo. “So if you really want to focus on regional news or national news versus international, you just blow up the map of the U.S.”
