Gamer Gets Fit In Order to Play His Wii*

None

The Nintendo Wii is turning into the video game world’s version of a fitness phenomenon. One gamer in New Hampshire has decided to take Nintendo’s fitness challenge, but first he must get in shape.

“I got a Wii for Christmas but I can’t play the darn thing for more than five minutes without being completely exhausted,” Tom Yuron told Cheat Code Central. “I was so sore after five minutes of gameplay that I could hardly get out of bed for the next two or three days. Yet, I know the health benefits of this new game system, so I am committed to working myself up to playing the Wii.”

Along with the help of his “incredibly fit” sister who occasionally takes walks around her neighborhood, Yuron has begun a fitness program with his goal being to play the Wii for thirty minutes of continuous gameplay. His sister has instructed him begin his program by doing exercises such as walking to the television to change the volume or channel, using the bathroom in the upstairs of his house, and standing up while he showers.

“The hardest one she assigned me was walking into Burger King rather than going through the drive-through,” Yuron explained. “It doesn’t sound like much, but that’s a good ten minutes of walking and standing. This is going to be a long road, but if I could someday complete The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, it would all be worth it.”
