Sony in Trouble for Media Stunt

None

Sony has gotten the attention of animal rights activists with their latest marketing promotion for the European release of God of War II.  At a promotional party for the game, complete with Kratos look-alikes and women feeding grapes to assorted guests, a live goat was apparently brought out and butchered.  However, Sony disputes this, stating that the goat was brought to the party already slaughtered and had been purchased from a local butcher.

A Sony spokesperson had the following to say.  “In keeping with the theatrical nature of the event, the attendant media were invited to eat a bowl of food that purported to be from the animal – but in fact was a cooked traditional Greek dish,” He further stated that “Sony Computer Entertainment Europe does not in any way, shape or form condone cruelty or mistreatment of animals.  Sony Computer Entertainment Europe takes the sensitivities of the general public and issues of animal welfare very seriously and is sorry for any offence or distress the event or perception of this event may have caused.”
