New Splinter Cell: Conviction wouldn’t be possible on PS3

None

A magazine has surfaced with scans and information about the latest Splinter Cell game, which is subtitled Conviction.  The game will apparently eschew the need to hide in the shadows and will play out more in broad daylight.  There will also be hand to hand combat and interaction with the environment, as each on-screen object actually has physical properties.

One of the most interesting revelations, however, is that the developers said that the game is Xbox 360 exclusive because that gives them more freedom than if they were attempting to develop cross-platform.  The developers stated that the doubted they could do what they’re attempting to do if they were also developing for the PS3.

This is interesting, especially in light of the recent news that the Xbox 360 was making the development of GTA IV more difficult.  We’ll keep you posted as more news becomes available.
