80GB Korean PlayStation 3 due out in June

According to Sony’s Korean website, an 80 gigabyte PlayStation 3 may be available for Korean consumers as early as June 16th for 518,000 Korean Won ($580 USD).  While Sony has confirmed the existence of this model, they’ve also stated that there are no plans to bring this model outside of Korea .  Sony also stated that other than the larger hard drive, the 80 GB PS3 is identical to the other models.

With the discontinuation of the 20GB PS3 and the release of the Xbox 360 Elite, perhaps we’ll see this model sometime soon, despite Sony’s claims.  We’ll keep you posted.
