New Reality Show Stars Game Developers*

A new reality show is being taped featuring the team of developers from Square Enix. Noted for such popular games as the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series. The reality show will focus on the relationship the developers have with each other as well as the outside world. It’s rumored that one of them even has a girlfriend.

The show will be filmed primarily in the studio, or the “inverted dungeon,” as many of the developers call it – or “nerds,” as many people call the developers. This inverted dungeon is on the 58 th floor of the Chrysler building in downtown Manhattan . Some claim that it’s not located there for the view, and point to the door that opens on the west face of the building – without a balcony. Geoff Bellgrinder says, “Management maintains that door is for inspiration. Most developers says it’s for intimidation. I say it’s for elimination. Still, there are days when I just want to open it and run the %#* out of here. At those times it would make me the happiest man on Earth – at least until I hit the earth.”

In the first episode, which will air on FOX this summer, the developers are working on a new Disney project. “We can’t tell you what it’s called,” says head developer Beryl Nobnik, “But it does feature an animated, talking uterus. Yes, it’s a musical, and it features the talents of Will Smith, David Spade, and Ron Jeremy.”

Surprises are in store for viewers as the developers come to grips with each other and society at large. In one particular touching scene, one of the developers has a sobbing fit in which he hyperventilates, as someone gets his lunch order wrong and he winds up with pickles on his Quarter Pounder. To make matters worse, he was given the nickname, “leprechaun” by his team for no apparent reason. “He’s lucky he didn’t end up with the nickname, Fat Bald Headed Horse Face. Because that’s what he really looks like,” says one of the developers who understandably prefers to remain nameless.

“Things can get real tense here,” explains Nobnick, “I guess that’s why they are filming us.” Nobnick asks, “Have you seen that TV show called the Office? Our show will make it look like a comedy.”
