Although he announced his retirement some time ago, Ken Kutaragi, the man known as the father of the PlayStation, has officially stepped down from his position as chairman and chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.
Kutaragi will continue to hold an advisory post in Sony’s gaming unit. It is unknown how much he will be involved in the future of the PlayStation, although months ago he stated that he had the next few versions of the console mapped out already.
