WiiConnect 24 overheating Wiis?

WiiConnect 24 overheating Wiis?

None

WiiConnect24 is a feature built into the Wii that allows the console to stay connected to the internet at all times, even when the system is turned off.  However, according to some Wii owners, this application is doing more harm than good.

Some gamers are claiming that their WiiConnect24 feature has caused their Wii to break.  Apparently, although the WiiConnect doesn’t use up a lot of power, it functions while the Wii is off and the internal fans aren’t working, which can cause the heat to cook the main CPU.

Nintendo has stated that they haven’t had any reports of this situation occurring, but advises Wii users to contact them if they have any problems with their Wii.

More on this as details become available.
