Hideo Kojima and Konami are currently holding an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of Metal Gear, and along with the celebration comes a ton of Metal Gear news.

The first batch of exciting news comes in the form of Metal Gear Online for the PS3, a game that will be “the ultimate companion to Metal Gear Solid 4” and will support 16 players online and use MGS4’s game engine.

Konami also announced Metal Gear Solid Mobile, a game set in the world of MGS3 for mobile phones.

The next announcement was for an expansion for the PSP’s Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.  The expansion is titled Portable Ops Plus and includes new stages, characters, and gameplay modes for the multiplayer as well as the new Infinity Mode for single player.

Finally, Konami showed new gameplay footage of the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4.  The footage was fifteen minutes long and showcased some of Snake’s abilities, such as his Active Camo, the use of MG Mk. II (Otacon’s little robot), and new ways of shaking down enemies.
