Microsoft has cut the price of their HD-DVD Player add-on for the Xbox 360, dropping the price to 179 USD.
The peripheral will be available for this price beginning August 1st, and the consumers will also have the option to choose five HD-DVD titles out of a selection of fifteen. The free five DVDs offer will last until September, although the price alteration is permanent according to Microsoft.
Microsoft has not commented on a price drop for the PAL regions.
“With the price reduction to USD 179, the Xbox 360 HD-DVD Player continues to be the most affordable way to enjoy high definition,” said Microsoft exec Jeff Bell.
