Newly Announced by Matthew Walker

Farcry 2:

Ubisoft Montreal is currently working on the inevitable sequel of Farcry, which is pretty good news for the fans of the first one. While the detail of the game seem to be limited at this time, it the October issue of PC Gamer we can expect a full explosion of detail about the game. Until then, there has been a website devoted to the game. Unfortunately, the site is mostly blank with info, I hope that this is not an indication of what we can expect form the game.

Avatar Machine:

Remember the Virtual Boy peripheral that Nintendo came out with a long time ago? It was supposed to be a complete VR experience, but the only experience that I got out of the game was a massive headache and the inability to see for a while. Apparently, VR is not a total lost cause. British designer Marc Owens has been working with bringing together the Avatar Machine. With it, players will be able to submerge themselves completely into the game via a helmet that you can view the virtual world. Now this is nothing new, but one has to wonder if it will be realistic enough to entertain those that have experienced the next-gen wave? I for one, will not be racing to the stores to pick up a really bad movie on sci-fi waiting to happen, at least right away.

Bionic Commando:

While it first began as just a revision of the title, Quartermann’s Bionic Commando was going so well that it appears that they have decided to make it into a full-fledged game. Details are sparse, but we can only assume that if things continue to go well for the game, we might be getting some more info soon. It would also be nice if they re-released the original Bionic Commando on one of the online downloading services.

Sam and Max: Season Two

If you have yet to experience the great games of Sam and Max,  now’s your chance to get a little caught up. You can start downloading them through Gametap before the second season begins. The crazy antics of the duo will keep you wanting more and getting more excited for the second season. There’s not much to reveal about the upcoming second season of the series, but if the first is any indication it will be great.

Heroes:

Ubisoft is growing to a whole new level, a heroic level. The NBC hit Heroes is being turned into a game. I wouldn’t start fearing it as another potential CSI, 24, or the Shield game yet. Not much is known other than the potential release by the end of 2008, which will have Heroes show in the midst of their third season. Creator Tim Kring confirmed the Heroes game will appear on the PC, Xbox 360, and the PS3. He also stated that they have been working on the show so there could be a video game made easily. If it will be as good as the show then I cannot wait.

The Godfather 2:

Soon we will be following through another classic crime boss movie. Frank Gibeau revealed this week that the sequel to the first Godfather was on its way. Again not many detail have been revealed about the game. We can hope that the game will arrive on all systems simultaneously, instead of the large gaps in between the first release. It will also be interesting to see if they follow the same plotline of the second film or if they are ready to branch out a little. We will keep you posted.
