Despite last week’s internet buzz, Sony spokesman Dave Karraker has denied the rumor of a Sixaxis with rumble features. He has, however, confirmed the rumor that there is a new version of the Sixaxis in circulation.
According to Karraker, “We recently sent out to the development community some new prototypes that have a slightly enhanced sensitivity for the analog sticks and the motion sensing within the Sixaxis controller … This is not a new controller, but is part of the normal development and evolution of controllers.”
Last week, website Inner Bits claimed that Sony had distributed a new Sixaxis controller with rumble capabilities to select developers. While Sony has denied the rumble Sixaxis rumor, Karraker’s report verifies what the website said about the new Sixaxis controller with better motion sensing.
