Microsoft is expecting to break records with the launch of Halo 3 this September. They are so confident in their product’s popularity that they’re expecting the game to clear $155 million USD on the day it launches.
$155 million would break the previous record set by Halo 2, which was $125 million USD and would even beat Spider-Man 3, which is the current record holder for largest movie premiere figures.
“We did $125 million last time,” stated Microsoft director of creative marketing Chris Di Cesare. “We’re confident we can do better.”
Halo 3 ships on September 25 for the Xbox 360. We’ll have to wait until then to see if the game achieves as well as Microsoft expects.
