Microsoft Fixing Xbox 360 Smoking Wheels

Microsoft Fixing Xbox 360 Smoking Wheels

None

Not long after Microsoft’s admission that some Xbox 360s were faulty and offering to extend the 360 warranty, Microsoft has run into another hardware problem.  This time, the culprit is the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel, which apparently overheats when the AC/DC adapter is used to power it.

Microsoft urges owners to contact them for a retrofit, but assures consumers that it is okay to use the Wireless Wheel with the battery.  “There have been no reported incidences of fire, personal injury or property damage resulting from the component failure in the wheel,” A statement from Microsoft stated, so apparently the most severe cases resulted in the wheels releasing smoke after overheating.
