Metroid Dread, the cancelled throwback 2-D Metroid originally scheduled for the DS, might be back on the radar according to some game reviewers. Apparently, by scanning a certain panel in the upcoming Metroid Prime, the player receives the following message.
“Experiment status report update: Metroid project ‘Dread’ is nearing the final stages of completion.”
No official word from Nintendo on whether this message really denotes the game is back on track or not, but we’ll keep you posted as news becomes available.
