Sony has issued a press release stating that the new PSP Slim Model, which was unveiled at this year’s E3, is now available for purchase. The Slim PSP, also known as the PSP-2000, is only currently available as part of the $199.99 Entertainment Pack, which includes the following.
- Daxter — Developed by Ready At Dawn Studios, Daxter is a PSP “Greatest Hits” title that set the standard for character action games on PSP . Daxter takes place during the two years he searches for Jak , whose imprisonment was shown at the beginning of Jak II . Developed from the outset as a modern 3D platformer, Daxter sports a full-featured move-set, seamless level transition through vibrant environments and incredible animation detail.

Later this month another model will also be available. The PSP Core Pack, with a PSP in “Piano Black,” an AC adaptor, and a battery pack, will be available for $169.99. The limited-edition Star Wars Battlefront PSP Entertainment Pack will be available October 9 and will include a special “Ceramic White” PSP with an image of Darth Vader on the back of the unit and the PSP-exclusive title, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron. This version will retail for $199.99.
