PlayStation Home Delayed Until 2008

None

PlayStation Home is the latest “game” to join the growing list of holiday delays.  Sony has announced that their online project has been delayed until the spring of 2008.

No specific reason was given for the delay, but Sony Computer Entertainment President Kaz Hirai stated vaguely that the purpose was “so we can truly meet the needs and feedback of the users.”

“The more I think about it, I think there are a multitude of business chances – not just from ourselves, but from our partners as well,” said Hirai, also stating the Sony was trying to decide the best business model for the service.

The project is currently in a closed beta phase, and Sony’s plans to further open the beta next month hasn’t been altered by the delay.

We’ll keep you posted as news develops.
