Rumors have been circulating the internet about a new 40GB SKU for the PlayStation 3. Apparently, a recent filing with the FCC has confirmed the upcoming new version of the PS3. The new model, the CECHG01, has a diagram in the FCC report that shows the system with two USB ports instead of the standard four and no visible card reader.
The fewer USB ports and possible lack of a card reader could be cutbacks to achieve the lower price point, especially if Sony is pushing to have this less expensive version for the holiday season.
