Animal Crossing 2 To Be MMO?

Animal Crossing 2 To Be MMO?

None

Following yesterday’s internet rumor that the third Knights of the Old Republic would be an MMO, Edge Magazine is claiming that Nintendo’s beloved Animal Crossing game’s sequel will be an MMO.

Nintendo has yet to confirm or officially announce anything about the next Animal Crossing, but the latest Edge Magazine reported that a “Japanese source has confirmed to Edge that the upcoming Wii iteration of Animal Crossing is set to be a social networking MMO.”

The original game was released on the GameCube, and allowed for limited interaction between players through the use of codes.  While players could send letters and packages and visit other player’s towns, they couldn’t directly interact with another player.  The DS version of the game made interaction easier through the DS’s use of Wi-fi, but the ability to directly interact with another player was still missing, so the feature is highly expected and desired for the sequel.  However, few gamers were expecting an Animal Crossing MMO.

We’ll keep you posted as news becomes available.
