Nintendo has recently announced plans to add a new channel to the Wii. The Television Program Schedule Channel will allow Wii owners to browse the television schedule on their Wiis, adding a channel that is compatible with the Wii’s television theme.
“We want Wii to become a kind of a friend to the TV set in the living room,” Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said. “So it will be nice if people will turn on the Wii console when they want to search for interesting TV programs.”
The Television Program Schedule Channel will allow users to search for programs by genre or actor and allow users to register their favorite shows. Japanese console owners can look forward to receiving the service in Spring 08. While there are currently no announced plans to bring the service to the
