Jade Empire, Bioware’s original IP based on mythical Japan, has had rumors of a sequel in the works for a while. While Bioware has yet to officially confirm that Jade Empire 2 is in development or even planned, most gamers simply assumed that the game would eventually see the light of day. However, according to Dean Takahashi of the Mercury News , that day may be sooner than we think.
Takahashi stated that he talked with someone who has actually seen code for Jade Empire 2, which would confirm that the game is currently in development. It is reputedly being developed for the Xbox 360, although Bioware’s recent acquisition by EA makes a PS3 version possible and even likely. Nothing else about the game is known at this point, but we’ll keep you posted as news becomes available. |
