Rumors have been flying around the message boards, but we can confirm that Resistance 2 has been announced for Fall 2008. The screenshots look amazing, and coming from Insomniac Games it’s sure to be a work of art. According to GameInformer magazine, the scope of the game world is massive. The United States provides the setting and the story will exclusively follow the hero Nathan Hale. The team at Insomniac wants to provide a foreboding and despair-filled adventure that will actually provide continuity between the core story and multiplayer aspects of the title. In addition to a dark story, a new setting, and even more amazing graphics, epic boss battles will be included to rock the proverbial boat of FPS conventions. Look for gigantic creatures that will thwart your every advance. As if that weren’t enough, Resistance 2 will feature two core stories. You will take on the Chimera as a single player and then have to take on an entirely different campaign with a friend or in an 8-player co-op over the PSN. In addition to the team co-op story, Resistance 2 will boast a robust 60-player multiplayer online shoot-’em-up. This is an unprecedented amount of content for one title. This game will be worth more than the price of admission.
