Empire Iteractive Brings Myst to a DS near You

The famed PC bestseller has seen its fair share of sequels and iterations.  Another version is set to release this winter.  According to the Prime Newswire, the game will be published by “Empire Interactive PLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Silverstar Holdings” not Midway as originally slated.  The Myst DS title was developed by Hoplite Research, LLC and will include many features exclusive to the handheld.

Some of the exclusive content includes the RIME Age.  The sounds, effects, video clips, and graphic sets have all been re-mastered an re-created for the Nintendo DS version.  Also, a new user interface will take advantage of the portable’s touch screen and dual screen presentation.  There will also be a new set of mini-tools to help the player in solving the myriad puzzles along the way, not the least of which is camera to take snapshots of key bits of information.  If ever Myst was going to make a comeback, the DS is the ideal platform to stage it.
