Eidos Interactive announces the development of the Highlander as a multi-platform action/adventure title. For those of you unfamiliar with the original film and television series, go ahead and queue up both in your video delivery service. The fantasy world of the films and of the television series centers on Connor and Duncan MacLeod, “of the clan MacLeod.” These sword-slinging, immortal Scotsmen have become icons to a generation of fans everywhere. It looks like Eidos is trying to capitalize on this beloved world. Though the Highlander has been released before, for the now ancient platforms of the Commodore 64 and the Jaguar CD, it has never gotten a treatment deserving of its rich storytelling. Hopefully with Eidos at the helm and the inclusion of the television series’ writer David Abramowitz, Highlander will be an awesome, swashbuckling, adventure franchise.
