Nintendo of America announces the release of Adventures of Lolo 2 and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers for the Wii’s Virtual Console.  The games will be available for purchase Monday morning at 9:00 am PST.

Adventures of Lolo 2 (500 Wii points, rated E for Everyone):  A puzzle game that originally released in 1990 for the NES and Famicom systems by HAL Corporation.

According to the game manual, the story synopsis goes as follows.  “Our heroic pair is at it again! On their return from the Haunted Castle (successfully defeated in the original Adventures of Lolo) our Hero and Heroine were confronted by the real power of the land – the King of Eggerland himself. Swooping down on our victorious couple, the King thundered, “The Labyrinth was only a preliminary test – the real battle starts now! If you can make it through my Tower and my Castle, I will set your people free. But just to make sure there are no tricks – this little one comes with me!” And with that he grabbed Lala and spirited her away to his Castle in the clouds. But, fortunately, Lala was able to analyze each of the mazes as she was taken to the Tower, and left clues in the Jewel Boxes in each room. Each Jewel that Lolo collects contains a bit of information that will help him in the next room. With your help, they will work together to free their people from the clutches of the King.”

Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers (800 Wii points, rated T for Teen):  Capcom’s classic arcade fighter with some extra special modifications to characters and visuals.  The game originally released to arcades in late 1993.

The special features of The New Challengers include four new characters; Fei Long, T. Hawk, Cammy, and Dee Jay.  The boss characters received updated move sets as well as new, game endings.  Characters can be selected with one of eight different colors.  A handful of the original eight playable characters received updated art and audio such as Ryu and Ken to allow for greater distinction.  Also, Hyper Fighting speed was reduced.  Finally, a graphic combo counter as well as point bonuses were added for first attack combos and reversals.
