U.S. May Get White PS3

U.S. May Get White PS3

None

According to Engadget and Gamesindustry.biz, a Sony FCC filing has been found for a 40 GB Ceramic White PS3. It would seem to be the same model that released in Japan in November of 2007. The Japanese version came bundled with the new Dual-Shock 3 controller, and one can only assume that would be the case for the U.S. launch as well.

However, Sony has not officially recognized a third SKU. According to Sony officials they are comfortable with their current two SKU marketing approach. Nevertheless, it would be unimaginable for Sony to go through the FCC filing process without there being a plan to release the product in the near future.

As far as timing goes, there is no word as of yet. If the Ceramic White System indeed comes bundled with the new Dual-Shock, we may see a simultaneous release of both products. This is pure speculation however, and we won’t know for sure until Sony confirms the story.
