Date Set for GTA IV along with a Simultaneous Release

Rockstar has set a “firm” date for the next installment of their mega-franchise Grand Theft Auto: April 29th, 2008.  The news comes directly from the publisher’s website.

Sam Houser, Founder and Executive Producer of Rockstar Games told the media that,”We are so excited to be releasing Grand Theft Auto IV.  We’ve pushed ourselves very hard to make something incredible and hope the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment.”

Also in the cards is the fact that the game will ship to both to the Xbox 360 and PS3 simultaneously.  We’ll see if Microsoft’s absurd payment to Rockstar for DLC exclusivity will pan out.  It looks like the game is shaping up to be dynamite on either system.
