PS3 Goes Silver

Sony is still making waves this week.  According to this morning’s press release, they will be releasing a 40 GB Satin Silver PS3 in Japan.  That makes three colors for Sony’s homeland while the rest of the world is still waiting for something other than Clear Black.

The additional color is an attempt to allow Sony to market their console to a wider variety of consumers.  Sony seeks to allow gamers to choose “from a broader selection of colors to match their lifestyle and preferences.”  It’s true we love choices and we’re also suckers for shiny metallic toys.

There’s no word yet as to when the colors will come to the North American and European markets, but it really is just a matter of time.
