Sega Announces English of the Dead

Sega Announces English of the Dead

None

Sega is developing a new DS title that will have Japanese children learning phrasal verbs and gerunds by obliterating hordes of zombies.  English of the Dead, of House of the Dead fame, is not the first zombie inspired learning title.  Sega in fact released Typing of the Dead for the Dreamcast.  That title had players type their way to safety by turning their WPM into SMGs.

The English of the Dead title promises to be just as hilarious.  As gamers select the correct answers via the stylus, the dying zombies will actually repeat the answer; you know, so that they can hear proper pronunciation.  According to IGN’s take on the Famitsu article that broke the news, “ English of the Dead will feature six chapters in its main story mode of play. House of the Dead fanatics [will] recognize a few bosses and stage areas in the Famitsu screenshots, although it’s unknown at the present if the whole game is just rehash of old House of the Dead stages with new English mechanics in place of the typing mechanics in place of the gun-shooting mechanics .”
