It has been long speculated that Twisted Metal would make its debut on the PS3 sometime in 2009. We do not have any word as to when it will actually release, but the gaming world does have confirmation that the famed car battle series is indeed in the works. Developer Eat Sleep Play’s David Jaffe told Kotaku that a new Twisted Metal title will release for the PS3. For any of you who got your hands on the recently released PS2 port of Twisted Metal: Head-on – Extra Twisted Edition you may already know of the revelation. A clue to their next project was in fact an unlockable feature on that compilation. There is no confirmation as to whether the game will release as a download or as a fully published title, however the game is sure to be an instant favorite regardless. It’s the kind of title that Sony needs to quickly get into its gaming library to attract larger numbers of their PS2 faithful to take the next-gen plunge.
