Rumors have swirled around the upcoming GTA title raising questions as to whether online support would be available for the PS3 version. These rumors were sparked when Major Nelson’s statements that GTA IV certain multiplayer support features would be “ unique to 360 .” The statement was misinterpreted by bloggers and forum contributors everywhere as meaning the PS3 version would have no online support. A Rockstar spokesman, in conversation with Gamesindustry.biz, allayed misguided fears by stating that, “ It’s always something we’ve been open about, both versions will support online multiplayer capabilities .” Major Nelson was almost certainly alluding to the exclusive DLC content for which Microsoft shelled out a pretty penny. So certainly the online multiplayer support will be unique on the Xbox 360, but not exclusive. |
