Blizzard announced today that players of World of Warcraft can join in a worldwide tournament this April in order to test their skills using the Arena System. The tournaments will be held in specially created zones that allow players to hop in with level 70 characters with full access to epic weapons. Players will then be able to challenge each other to 3-on-3 gladiator battles that test their combat skills. Entry fees vary depending on where in the world you live. North Americans will have to shell out $20 per competitor while Europeans and Brits will have to pony up €15 and £12 respectively. The opening rounds of the tournament will begin in April and go on for six weeks with the winners from each region advancing to the finals in Paris this June where they will compete for $120,000 in cash with $75,000 going to the grand prize winners. |
