Warhawk Developers to Release Patch and Booster; New Game in the Works!

None

In a lengthy blog post on the PlayStation forums, Warhawk game director Dylan Jobe informed us all of three interesting details.

First, the v.1.3 patch for the game is nearly ready and will include many excellent, fan-created paint designs from a recent contest. Second, the free booster pack, Operation: Broken Mirror, is in its final international play-testing phase. The target release date for the release of both the patch and the new content pack is set for April 2, 2008. However, this date is not 100% set in stone though it is likely.

Finally, in response to a few pithy comments made by forum contributors, Mr. Jobe confirmed that his studio is in fact in the process of making a new game. He gave no details as to what kind of game it would be, but he did accentuate the fact that despite the development of the new game they will continually release free material for Warhawk as it is the right thing to do. Here’s what he had to say:

#1 Support our community with free updates … “Check”

#2 Support our community with new Boosters … “Check”

#3 Begin development on new game … “Check”

The team and I’d like to think that we can, rather *should*, support the game we’ve already released and work on a new title at the same time.

We take the support of our players and our current game very seriously and don’t want abandon them just because we are looking at new development.

I know if I was a player and a dev ditched me I’d be pissed.

just my 2-cents.
