Sony PSP to Get Download Service

Sony PSP to Get Download Service

None

According to CVG, Sony has just unveiled Go!View for the PSP. Go!View is a video download service that is being created with the help of Sky. Americans may be familiar Sky Sports and News. The service will allow consumers to download and watch television programs and evens movies to the portable rig. Unfortunately this is a Euro exclusive until further notice. Here’s what Sony had to say:

“This summer, PlayStation and Sky will launch Go!View, the first official PlayStation Portable video download service in Europe. Go!View will provide a wealth of programming from the worlds of entertainment, comedy, sport, and movies for PSP owners to enjoy in addition to their usual gaming experience,” says Sony.

“Go!View gives PSP users the chance to watch their favorite programs on either a subscription or pay-per-view basis. Once registered on the Go!View website, users will be able to easily download content to the PSP via their PC.”

No idea yet as to when the service will drop, but later this summer seems to be the word around the campfire. We’ll keep you posted on future developments, i.e. if and when the service will hit North America.
