The PS3 Is NOT Part of Valve’s Plan!

None

Valve, renowned developers of the Half-Life franchise, spoke with CVG and let them know that the PS3 is not part of their fiscal plan.  Instead, Valve will concentrate on developing for the PC and 360 for their new intellectual properties.  If these IP’s turn out to be successful, then they will rely on large publishers to fund the porting of the title to PS3.

This news comes from Valve’s head of marketing, Doug Lombardi.  When asked about the new Left 4 Dead franchise in development he stated that, “We’re not PS3 developers – we’re doing PC and 360 like with Orange Box.”

PS3 fans shouldn’t be dismayed, however.  All this means is that only Valve’s best games will come to your system…just a little late.  Furthermore, this statement will most assuredly prove false in the coming years if and when the PS3 finds parity or dominance in terms of an installed consumer base.
